Breakdown In International Ties Dangerous

The imposition of visas for travel to European countries would be a significant blow to the United States and Canada in terms of tourism headed for Europe but more importantly a significant economic blow to the EU because of the likely diminished travel of tourists from North America there. Such a discussion is a sign of our times and the deterioration of international cohesion that brings to mind the deterioration of international trade ties that occurred before the outbreak of World War I. The more isolated countries grow from each other the more friction there is in the world. The breakdown in the international division of labor and the law of comparative advantage – the two key economic drivers of growing international relationships is dangerous because in their absence there could be a rise in parochialism and xenophobia.
